Attached Pergola Kit Designs

Attached pergola kits can maximize the amount of your covered patio space. Synonymous with attached patio cover or sometimes referred to as an attached gazebo to a house, an attached pergola can be an extension of your house or other structure. Add an attached pergola to a pool house to create a covered area or add it to the wall extending from your kitchen slider to expand your home’s living space.

Our pergolas attach to a wall and extend out away from a building, giving you more covered space for your outdoor gatherings. All of our attached pergola kits include a 2×8 ledger board. Standard sizes typically have two posts supporting the cover part of the pergola. This creates a large shady space where you can put an outdoor dining set or a sofa and chairs.

How do you create a patio cover with an attached pergola?

Facts About our Attached Pergola Kits

1. Any of our full-size pergola kits (and our awning-style pergola kit) can be ordered as an attached pergola kit.

Below is a comparison of our attached pergola kits.

2. The pergola size you choose determines the number of posts.

All of our full size attached pergola kits (Big Kahuna, Sombrero, Melbourne, and Fedora) have been engineered with two posts for sizes 8×8 up to 20×20. 20×20 is the largest standard pergola kit size offered on our website. You can request a larger size by completing our custom quote request form, or by contacting us by phone or email. Once you go over 20 feet overall (17 feet outside post to post) in either direction we will need to add extra support posts to bear the weight of the pergola.

3. We offer custom size attached pergola kits.

You can request a custom size in any of our pergola kits. For our full size attached pergola kits, if you know how much coverage you’d like on your patio, choose the style that matches your need (Big Kahuna: maximum coverage, Sombrero: medium coverage, or Fedora: light coverage). Then complete a custom quote request with as much information as you have. If you’re not sure of the style or size, you can contact us any time. How to Order an Attached Pergola Kit

1. Compare pergola styles.

How much patio shade do you want? Do you want maximum coverage or less? What’s your budget? More info on Pergola Styles Comparison.

2. Determine the size you’ll need.

Measure your patio space for length, width, and height. Determining size for attached pergola kits will vary depending on the size of the area it’s meant to cover. Just like the style pergola will vary depending on the amount of shade you’d like. Our standard size pergolas vary from size 8×8 up to 20×20. When you think about size, you’ll want to take into consideration how much space you’d like to leave open for furniture, an outdoor kitchen, or other patio products.

The sample drawing here is of a 13×19 attached Big Kahuna pergola kit. Our pergola sizes are listed as Rafter Length (Projection or Depth) x Beam Length (Width). So, if the pergola size in your shopping cart is 13×19, 13 is the Rafter Length. 19 is the Beam Length.

The depth that your pergola extends from the wall will be your rafter length. Read more about how to measure for pergola rafter length.

The width of your pergola will be your beam length. Read more about how to measure for pergola beam length.

The height of your pergola will be your post height. When deciding post length, you’ll want to consider desired height above ground and post installation method. Read more about how to measure for pergola post height.

3. After you choose the size, select the remaining options (wood type, posts, end cuts, post base trim) to customize your pergola and add it to your cart!

Once you place your order, we will send you an order confirmation along with a rough sketch of the pergola kit you ordered to confirm the measurements will work for your space. Then we’ll add you to our production calendar! Once we have your kit built, crated, and ready to ship we’ll send you a shipping confirmation email with tracking information. Once it leaves our production facility, your attached pergola kit will take between 2 to 10 business days in transit depending on what part of the country you’re in. Your pergola kit will arrive pre-cut and pre-drilled with step-by-step instructions and ready to assemble! Read more FAQs here.
